IBM is just modifying its requirements tool portfolio. IBM Rational Requirements Composer is now renamed to IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation! In CLM v5.0, which was released on June 2nd, 2014, Rational Requirements Composer and Rational DOORS Next Generation are no longer separate products. They are combined into one product i.e. and the name is Rational DOORS Next Generation.
In CLM version 4.0.5, the capabilities of Rational Requirements Composer and Rational DOORS Next Generation (RDNG) are more or less identical — the only difference exists in the names of the licenses.
In the CLM v5.0 installation, when you go to the Rational License Key Center, you will see that references to Rational Requirements Composer have been renamed also. The application that runs in the CLM, is still called the Requirements Management (RM) application, and the capabilities remain the same.
